Community Resources

  • MOFGA volunteers have been working hard–please help yourself to fresh summer veggies in any of the gardens with a MOFGA/Gleaners stake!
  • Are you struggling to stay cool? Spectrum Generations reports that some Medicare Advantage plans may cover Air Conditioners if medical providers can verify need due to a chronic lung condition. Call your Medicare Advantage plan directly for more information.
  • The Patten Free Library has re-opened with limited hours. Masks are required in the library, and visits are limited to 30 minutes. Visit the library website or call 443-5141 for more information on visit and curbside pick-up hours.
  • The Bath Area Senior Center is offering activities, including cribbage, knitting, exercise classes and more, outdoors in their parking lot or under their tent. Check out their newsletter or contact them at 443-4937. A $15 membership charge for the year covers most activities.
  • Looking for transportation when the bus isn’t available? Mid-Coast Public Transportation charges $1.50/mile, $3 minimum each way and offers discounted rates for seniors and individuals with disabilities going to medical appointments. Call 338-4769 to schedule a ride.  You will be required to wear a mask or provide specific documentation if you cannot.  All drivers will be wearing masks.  If you have MaineCare, the Mid-Coast Connector is also available for eligible medical appointments (1-855-930-7900).

Bath Housing Updates

  • Would you be interested in community service very close to home? 2 of the 7 spots on the Bath Housing Board of Commissioners can only be filled by residents of housing that is supported by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Contact your Resident Service Coordinator for more information and next steps.
  • As a result of bed bug risks, Free Tables have been permanently removed from all buildings. Please do not leave any items in Community Rooms.
  • If you have an Air Conditioner in your apartment, be sure to keep your apartment windows closed when the Air Conditioner is running
  • Check your Resource Table for an envelope with Contact Update Completed forms can be dropped through the office mail slot or mailed to us. This is also another way to change your OneCall preferences—just check the box of the phone number or e-mail that you would like to use.

Safety Reminders:

  • The CDC has shared helpful tips if you need to have a service provider in your house, and these would be true for any essential visitors. Examples include: Take care of as much of the visit as possible by phone or e-mail ahead of time, discuss precautions in advance, have conversations outdoors whenever possible, be sure that you, the visitor and all household members over age 2 are wearing masks, stay at least 6 feet apart and wash your hands often. After the visitor leaves, disinfect any surfaces that they have touched.
