Bath Housing hosted a special housewarming celebration on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 to celebrate the opening of 520 Centre Street.
The event was a great success, and Bath Housing extends its sincere appreciation to the speakers: Bath Housing’s Jessica Irish, Maine Office of Community Affairs Director Samantha Horn, City Council Chair Miriam Johnson and our executive director Debora Keller. Their contributions made the day truly special.
When workers can find housing that not only fits their finances, but also their employment, transportation, education, healthcare, and social needs, the entire region benefits. Bath Housing was proud to showcase what can be accomplished through collaboration and community spirit.
“520 Centre Street demonstrates what’s possible for Bath Housing and the City and is a key first step in our vision for Bath’s Congress Avenue Corridor,” said Debora Keller, Bath Housing Executive Director.
In addition to providing 18 new homes centrally located and within walking distance of downtown Bath, 520 Centre Street is the new location of Bath Housing’s administrative offices. Units are income-restricted, non-age-restricted two-bedroom apartments. 520 Centre Street adds 18 units to Bath Housing’s existing portfolio of 175 units in the city of Bath.
“Last Saturday, the City of Bath awarded this project its 2025 Community Project Award as part of the City of Bath’s annual Community Involvement Day. This award honors impactful projects that strengthen our community and address real needs,” said Bath City Councilor Miriam Johnson. “The 520 Centre Street project exemplifies this spirit, enhancing access to housing and building a stronger, more inclusive Bath.”
Bath Housing would like to give another thank you to everyone who added messages to the time capsule, it will be truly special when we eventually open it!
