BATH, Maine (June 8, 2026) – Bath Housing is inviting the public inside its highly anticipated new one-bedroom apartments at 540 Centre Street in Bath on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Featuring 24 one-bedroom, pet-friendly walkup apartments located near downtown Bath and major employers, 540 Centre Street will officially open in July 2026 and offer fair rents, comfortable living and unbeatable convenience.

Debora Keller, Executive Director of Bath Housing, points to the need for expanded housing options that better align with workforce demand, including a greater supply of one-bedroom units, while continuing to serve residents at every stage of life, from first apartments to family homes to downsizing options. 540 Centre Street will add to Bath Housing’s existing portfolio of 184 units in the city of Bath.
“If people who want to call Bath home can’t find a place to live, they can’t put down roots and employers can’t fill jobs. 540 Centre Street builds on the progress of 520 Centre Street— our first new multifamily development in 40 years— and is a welcome burst of momentum as we continue to plan and integrate new, well-located housing into existing neighborhoods,” said Keller.
Bath Housing offers an income-tiered rent structure at 540 Centre Street to make housing accessible to a range of households. 540 Centre Street features twenty-four, 567 sq-ft. walk-up apartments with air conditioning, fiber-ready internet capability, secure building access, designated parking, on-site laundry, 24/7 maintenance and responsive property management. Five units include accessible features. Rent includes electricity, heat and air conditioning, hot water, garbage and recycling.
