COVID-19 Update for Bath Housing Residents: April 6, 2020

All Bath Housing Apartments and Buildings are Smoke Free

The Bath Housing Smoke Free Policy remains very much in place.

We continue to issue lease violations for smoking and once the courts re-open, we will actively pursue evictions related to smoking violations.  Please remember that smoke in and around your building is scary, sickening and dangerous to your neighbors during an already upsetting time.

Complete Complaint Forms for any smoking violations that you observe and send these to Kevin, the Property Manager.  We are providing Complaint Forms and postage paid envelopes to all buildings via the Resource Tables; call if you need more.

If you have questions about smoking, complaints or any other possible violations, Kevin’s direct number is 449-0353.

Governor’s Order and Physical Distancing

Please keep in mind that the recent Governor’s Order, which is designed to protect everyone’s health and safety during this serious health crisis, requires, among other things:

  • Staying at least 6 feet away from anyone else in your building during the times when you need to be out of your apartment, such as doing laundry, picking up mail, taking your trash out or going outside.
  • Avoiding gathering in groups anywhere inside or outside the building.
  • Not visiting neighbors at any other apartments in your building unless it is to provide care or essential supplies.
  • Allowing visitors into the building only if they are coming to provide an essential service or essential supplies (whenever possible, please have visitors leave supplies on your Outdoor Resource Table).

Again, please remember that these are now state government orders.  They mean big changes in everyday life, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to some of the resources that we have been sharing.  And remember that you can check in with neighbors by phone!

Bath Housing staff will be Checking In

If you live at Anchorage, Dike’s Landing, Moorings, or Seacliff, expect phone calls from Bath Housing staff over the next week or so as we touch base with every household to see how you are doing and what you need. While Bath Housing does not provide services other than housing, we are working hard to locate community resources and share them with you.  The better we understand what you need, the more we can focus these efforts.  We also plan to share themes with local government and community agencies.  We thank you in advance for your willingness to answer just a few quick questions when we call.

Resources

  • We expect Food Bank and Dogwill deliveries late this week for those who have signed up and will update you, likely by OneCall, when we know more.  Please remember that you must keep at least 6 feet of distance from anyone else when items arrive. We will be calling individuals down one floor at a time when food is delivered so that it is easier to keep this distance.  If you have food items that you would like to share, you may want to leave them outside your door for a few days so that others may pick them up without having contact.  The Food Bank will not be able to provide as much food in this week’s delivery as in the last delivery.
  • We are also partnering with the Food Bank to offer small quantities of prepared bag lunches when they have them available and experimented with our first deliveries on Saturday. We will put out a call when we are able to receive these and the lunches will be first come, first served.  We will not have any advance notice of when these will be available.
  • The Families CAN! Program of Midcoast Maine Community Action wants to be sure that the community is aware that they are offering support, activities and resources for anyone caring for children through their Families CAN! Facebook page. If you have questions or are in need of parenting/child caregiving supports, you can reach Dawn Flagg at Families CAN! At 442-7963 x230.

Census 2020

  • Lots of us are looking for ways to accomplish things and make a difference right now. We can all complete our 2020 Census responses!  If you have any questions, you can complete your responses by phone.  Every response really does count in critical funding for our community.

Building Cleaning

  • ServPro will be back to clean and disinfect community areas Tuesday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 28 at Anchorage and Moorings and Wednesday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 29 at Dikes Landing and Seacliff Floral Street this month.
